Frequently Asked Questions
What languages do you teach?
We teach multiple languages including Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and other dialects of Chinese (like Cantonese, Shanghainese and Taiwanese).
We love teaching languages, and that passion is always shared with our students!
What should I prepare?
Not much!
A working internet connection, headphones and an internet-enabled device.
It is possible to take classes on a mobile or a tablet too, but in our experience computers work best because of the bigger screen that allows you more easily to use the interactive white board, chat functions etc.
Also just like in any class, make sure you are in a quiet undisturbed environment where you can fully focus on your studying. Because your screen will be used for the class, having a notebook and a pen ready to write things down also helps many students, though it is also possible to take notes on your PC too.
How long is a lesson?
All LTL online classes last for 55 minutes.
Do I need to have a schedule?
Yes absolutely – both for yourself and your teacher.
To progress in language we need regular classes with a regular schedule. Just an hour here of there just doesn’t get enough revision and repetition in to really progress. At the same time of course all good professional teachers have full teaching schedules so it is important to stick to those.
The great thing is that you can schedule classes seven days of the week, including weekends at no extra cost.
Can I choose my teacher?
Yes of course you can.
Our Director of Studies will organise the most suitable teacher for you, however if at a later point you want to change to another specific teacher, this can be arranged of course.
Please note that our teachers are professional language instructors who all have teaching schedules, so while it is usually no problem, any changes are still subject to availability.
Can I cancel my classes?
Yes you can cancel up to 30% of your classes up to six hours beforehand during working hours (9am – 6pm, Mon-Fri, UTC+8).
